You see Farage making his speeches on YT and think he's great, perhaps you should have a closer look.

I'd get another "advisor" if I were you for you're clearly being misadvised. The roots of the Spain situation grew in Spain and the current crisis is as much an argument against the EU as, for example, are California's empty coffers a reason against the union of the United States of America: no reason at all.
And so are all the other "arguments" dorks like you invoke over and over again: exceeding bureaucracy, mismanagement, lacking transparency, insufficient possibilities for democratic participation... tell me how are these issues endemic to the European Union?
Doesn't Capitol Hill lack of transparency at times? Don't American companies groan under the weight of abysmal bureaucracy, and not only just since Obama? As for the mismanagement part, heck just the other week us mp.netters got to read a news report on how the United States government spent enormous sums on "drumsticks" for "teambuilding exercises"...
These are problems (which demand reasonable action and not obtuse clamor from the off, by the way) every system has to cope with, yet you don't seem to hold them against the system of the United States of America and you don't call for its dissolution.

This isn't petty Eurowussie vs. Murica talk by the way. I don't resent you your own opinion but truthless one-liners I shall not let go uncommented.

Even if it might surprise you, some people care about more than conservative or not.

A couple of Americans getting their panties in a twist about the European Union? Priceless.

.... from someone who *never* comments on American economic issue. Priceless.

If the EU goes down, it will take down the rest of the global economy with it (same with all the big nations/blocs). But I guess we have no right to be concerned, or even discuss it in a discussion board.

If mb has concerns about Farange, but does not even consider them worth explaining, then he cannot expect much sympathy for his unknown views, now can he?

I take it your the scion of a leading American family whose investment adviser is tied in to the Fed, NSA, CIA and Goldman Sachs? If not, your advisor is talking pants and is probably a delusional fantasist.

You don't have to think he's ''great'' to believe he makes some pertinent points about the less desirable aspects of the EU (in amongst some quite silly comments).

I'm absolutely confident that the next general election in the UK will see UKIP become a far more significant political force... so get used to seeing and hearing from him.

It isn't really hard to pick US data that are worse than the EU average these days.

Really? Then you should have no problem naming a large American state that has 25%+ unemployment. Please do so.

Unemployment data is the only number?
Budget Deficit? Trade deficit? Infrastructure deficit? Debts of students? Decline of education spending?
    Need more?
