    Default French Revolution reenactment

Well, I should clarify. We're portraying French republican soldiers at a napoleonic reenactment. Our specific Impression for this event was 1793 at the battle of Raismes. We are however a progressive unit so our event-to-event impression will change. The overall unit is "Le Batallion des Volontaires de Paris"

Outstanding photos! You guys look warm in all of that wool.
And I won't lie, I was expecting an airsoft match where in revolutionary types had to storm a "Bastille" in order to arm themselves.

ROFL, no...I don't do airsoft at all. IMHO they are two completely different animals, and do not mix at all. I don't think you can really reenact with bbguns and be taken seriously. Plus we educate people which is really the whole point of reenacting in the first place.

It's just because I'm a reenacting hipster. AFAIK we're the first republican unit in the US, and only the 4th or 5th in the world. plus the North American Napoleonic scene isn't all that big. This past event was huge and we had about 80 or 90 guys. It was our first event as a unit, so 5 guys and 100% turnout was better than i could have asked for.

That never happened. It's only communist propaganda. Or so I heard.
