Default New U.S. Air Force dress uniform?

Is this the new dress uniform? It is similar to the band uniform but adds a belt and has fewer buttons.

That appears to be the 'Billy Mitchell' prototype uniform that the AF was playing with back in 2006 ("Marines & soldiers need body armor? Bah, we need new smoking jackets!"). To the best of my knowledge it was passed over in favor of the 'Hap Arnold' style...and then the entire program was put on hold by the previous Chief of Staff.

Maybe Mark Welsh likes to play dress up & pretend he's a dough boy.

I hope not. But then again, it is a new decade, and every decade AF has to have a uniform identity crisis. No joke - it's almost like clockwork.

I am in the USAF and I have not heard anything about new uniforms. Were still reeling from the ABU's. I certainly hope these do not come to pass.
Reminds me of a time in band camp......

Maybe it's just me or does it look really baggy on him?

Thanks Kitty, I thought I would be the only one to say that uniform was a huge improvement. The belt is too low though.

Found this on an Air Force forum:

Gen. Mark A. Welsh III addresses an audience after being sworn in as the 20th Air Force chief of staff during a ceremony at Joint Base Andrews, Md., Aug. 10, 2012. The unique ceremonial uniforms worn by the CSAF and the chief master sergeant of the Air Force during today's transition ceremony are authorized for wear only by these senior leaders when they attend events of a ceremonial nature. They are not intended for wear by any other individuals, groups, or the entire Air Force. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Christina Brownlow) (KJT)
Unfortunate but then again who knows what might happen.

Can't say I'm a fan, it looks too much like a 1920's police uniform.
