That has been around for a long time. Not the smartest or dumbest thing to do.
All I can say...."shake my head" No words.

I gathered that since it was posted in 2010....but I cannot believe people are that stupid to put something like that on youtube.
I once made something like that with aluminium tubing and steel wool. Never tested it cause it looked dodgy as ****.
If I'm not mistaken there's a few people who have registered a threaded adapter for 2 liter soda bottles. This guy is not one of those though.
Actually....I know silencers are illegal and I would NEVER make one or buy one while it is against the law....HOWEVER....I am completely in favor of changing that law, and allowing silencers in some fashion for the average Joe. There is very little reason that silencers should not be allowed by law. Most of the fear is from movies made showing mafia hits etc using them which is BS.
Silencers use in real life however, would have a beneficial impact on the public. Think of the shooting range with everyone using silencers....you could shoot mostly without ear protection. Mass production of legal silencers would bring the price down where you could replace them as often as required. Hunting using silencers would be of benefit to many people due to the lower amt. of sound when the weapon is fired. Much less ear damage.
In my mind it is similar to if all autos in the USA were not allowed to have mufflers. (the ban on silencers)
Just my 2c worth. I know we have ATF agent(s) here, so bust my chops where I am wrong if you think so.
PS...I do not foresee any lifting of the ban in the near future..but I still think the ban is dumb.
This reminds me of a CSI:Miami episode where the murderer used a soda bottle to silence his gun. Wouldn't be surprised if he got the idea from there.
^^ sad for me to say this i know:did not segal do this in a film about a oil rig, plus being him also shot through the glass....but intresting it really works on the vid.
I have seen a show on TV that showed the "factory" where silencers are made for legal uses, and they are very complex and technical, to do a proper job of silencing without effecting the ballistics of the rounds, and maintaining a small and lightweight design. The real silencers are extremely technical and difficult to produce.
I know that DW has a suppressor on one of his rifles for hunting varmints. I love the idea of having one. Just don't want to have to pay that much to own one. In Vermont its a $10.00 fine to have one. hah.
I've got one on my air rifle - sounds like a cannon without it.

BTW, that didnīt sound that silenced at all: just like an average .22lr in a windy day
Sweet gat gazbert. Very nice.
No such thing as "silencers". That's like calling a mag a "clip"....![]()
