The internet is my TV sir.

But to be honest, yeah it pretty much did. I barely watch TV anymore unless I have a movie that I want to see on a big screen. But usually for shows/movies, that's what NetFlix, Hulu, YouTube is for.

100%. After I moved I never bothered to get a new subscription, and I have yet to regret it. I get out more and enjoy life more.. only time I use the couch now is to relax on while reading, and boy do I read ALOT more. I think i spend more on books in a month than I did on my old Sat subscription.

Yup. I was way ahead of the curve. Cancelled the cable back in 2003. Glad you guys finally caught up so I'm not "the weird guy without tv" anymore.

Yes, I dropped mine. It wasn't worth the price for what little I actually had interest in watching. The few things I enjoy viewing you can just catch on the web.

I actually don't even own a tv personally.

The only tv I watch now are Tottenham Hotspurs games from the Premier League, Newcastle United Jets games from the A-League and F1 races. If I'm hungover or something I'll lay down and watch the box but other then not I don't actually watch much tv period.

I usually only use the TV for background sounds or if there is something on channels i like such as discovery/National geographic channel and so forth. But normally i tend to download or watch streams so i rarely watch tv.

I download all my shows. Don't have to watch ads and can watch it whenever I want. Not to mention they don't show anything good in Australia.

I can get local channels in HD OTA no issue, and just the way that cable companies have a monopoly is sickening, so I've been without cable for quite some time now.

    Word.

I still have Comcast cable, but it's usually just on in the background while I'm on here.

Sat, and cable are long gone from my place. 10 years or so since I paid a cable bill.
I still have a TV, mind, but it's just for movies and hockey. I just stream stuff and drag it to the big screen and watch it on that.
