Chinese M4 fake lol. Makes me think about all the butthurt drama about China that's happening here these days...

As long as those 30 round mags are modified to be able to only hold 10 rounds, I think that you'll be fine.

My first gun will be a SMLE.

does it really matter? Sounds like he's looking for a toy for grown-ups. If he's not going to hunt or participate in competitions, all he needs is something that goes bang.

I'm saving. Not bought yet. I did get an MR308 earlier, but now I want the small one as well. German gunshops do have MR223's for 2500-2700 in the net, although I probably will buy locally.

im sure the quality is not as great as an american or german ar15 but i think a lot of ar parts are interchangable so i would be able to spend the saved dollars on cool stuff like rails n stuff

Daniel Defense AR's are in Canada. Priced around $1500 which is on par with US and include rails. Many options to choose from. Things are changing for the good. For now...

Check out One Shot Tactical or Wolverine Supplies. They both carry DD and others.

And about the mags: 30 rounders are pinned to 5 rounds. You can get 10 round LAR pistol mags though but you won't find 30's pinned at 10.
