Default Israel Plans For Iran Strike As Citizens Say Government Serious

Interesting article. It makes you wonder what will happen after the US election in November.

Dozens of Israelis crowded in front of a storefront at a Jerusalem shopping mall yesterday to pick up new gas masks, part of civil defense preparations in case the military strikes Iran and the Islamic Republic or its allies retaliate.

“Our leaders seem to have gotten very hawkish in their speeches and this time it seems they mean what they say,” said Yoram Lands, 68, a professor of business administration, who was picking up new masks for himself and his wife at a distribution center in the mall.

Our current government has been quite clear that we may have to go alone on this one, despite the fact that the Iranian nuclear program is a threat for more than one country, we will find ourselves alone in the sky, and in the bunkers.

What I find quite sad is that this program could maybe have been stopped by political means five to two years ago, but the UN agency and the State Department were busy belittling the Israeli estimates and intelligence instead of effectively investigating and find means of leverage on the Iranian Islamic republic.

As of estimates and preparations, you can see that people are starting to queue for their gasmask (I took care of this business a long time ago, but will nevertheless find myself waiting in line for a new one, since my second son is due by september).

Suddenly many shelters are clean again, and hey, I hold the keys to the best bunker in the world, a bar below 8 meters of concrete and basalt

I don't envy the fact that you need either gas masks or bunkers

Much talk, no action. Unless America attacks on Israel's behalf there will be no attack.

It actually seems like a lot is being done... especially since 5 Iranian nuclear scientists are no longer with us.

The question of an Israeli solo attack is still an open one and thinking that any U.S attack would be on Israel's behalf is simplistic.

That seems to be impression Bibi and Barak are giving everyone.

Yet I can't help but wonder if this is just a part of some sort of elaborate psychological/diplomatic strategy meant to keep everyone on edge and to prevent complacency in regards to Iran.

If Assad falls, the syrian airdefense will be offline for a few weeks due to the dissaray that follows, within that timeframe the IAF will have a almost clear sky above syria, a golden opportunity they should welcome with open arms

If and when it happens, none of us will know. We will wake up to news and it will probably be a event that had happened and is over. The element of surprise is critical for a mission like this. So maybe we let the IAF surprise us rather than let the news bore us.

    I agree.

However, an American attack will bring a military response from Iran, so preparing for war with iran or its lekkies in Lebanon, is prudent.

The problem is, that Iran is in high alert because of Syrian crisis, so IAF will hardly surprise them.

Shush. Don't troll. Who the heck needs expensive stealth aircraft to penetrate Russian and Chinese air defense systems... when they've got Israeli pilots?

Their service would make a fine military export as mercenaries.

You forgot an entire missiles base and possibly a nuclear facility.
Nevermind the oil export that was shutdown after a virus attack, the nuclear reactor that still doesn't work completely.
