Actually AK 47 is more of a machine gun than an assault rifle.Comparing it to a weapon of other class serves no purpose. The nearest rival to AK 47 is the M16A1 which has manufacturing cost 4 times that of a AK47.

I am not against owing of guns as i myself own a gun.But i am for those guns which serves the purpose of self defense only.Anyways this is was only my personal opinion.

I'm sorry but you need to learn more about guns before you speak of them.

Off course you can have your opinion. But you should also be able to learn more before you say things that are not correct.
From the moment you consider an ak47 a machine gun, and it being more lethal than a hunting rifle, you are dead wrong.

This is said a lot but I have found it to be untrue. In my experience, Romanian Century Arms Sporting Rifles are just fine. Maybe some nonstandard barrel threading, but that is it.
It goes bang every time and puts a hole in the target where I want it to. What else is there?

They're good guns. I wish I had the money to buy a VEPR and a Saiga-12.

So glad I still live in a country that allows the average person the chance to own a great weapon for defense of their home and property.

Just because of this thread I'm going to the shooting range tonight. Gonna bring my trusty converted Saiga 7.62 & 12 and the new Daniel Defense V5 I bought and will "assault" the paper targets all the way. Yep, just because I can.

Plus just an FYI Crysis: importation of machines guns, unless by/to a federal agency is long gone "Per ATF: 18 U.S.C. 922(o) and 27 CFR 479.105(c) restrict the importation of machineguns after May 19, 1986.". You can only build a new one if you have a manufacturer license or buy the previously imported machine guns. So this article is a full troll assault- imported Saiga is not a machine-gun or AK-47, besides AK-47 has not been made for over 50 years in Russia.

Aimed semi automatic fire is more effective than fully automatic fire in my opinion. Especially when one is limited to your standard 30 round magazine. I would also say that the nearest rival to the AK 47 is NOT the M16A1.............its probably the AKM.
