Well it's my pleasure, I love history. As for sending anything to him, it's up to you. I can't find an email address but he works at his village townhall. I guess you can send an email to them if you want to. The name of the guy is Philippe Zentz d'Alnois, you can google it, you can find his pic on google image

http://mairie-boury.pagesperso-orange.fr/boury1.htm The address is at the middle of this page. Don't know if you checked the wiki page but the castle is quite awesome.

BTW I thinkyou were right, the letter has probably nothing to do with this guy.

Merci beaucoup. I love history as well, it´s my field of study, although more the medieval side of it.

Yes, the official site of the castle seems not to be working. But the wiki page showed that the castle and the estate is really awesome like you said. Managed to find this:

    http://www.montjoye.net/chateau_de_boury

But it doesn´t have email either, just his phone number. I think he might be surprised to get a call from Finland.. and as I don´t speak French, the communication might be difficult.

Here should be a bit more info about Raoul Zentz d'Alnois:

    http://hpvexin.free.fr/content/histo...%20Aubourg.pdf

    page 174 (4 of 19).

    Ange-Eugène-Raoul Zentz d'Alnois, né à Beauvais, le 26 février 1869,
    sous-lieutenant au 12e Chasseurs, le 1er octobre 1890 ; lieutenant, le 1er octobre 1892 ;
    lieutenant sous-écuyer à l'école de cavalerie de Saumur, en 1901 ; marié à Rouen
(Seine-Inférieure), le 6 février 1901, avec Suzanne Boulet, fille de Gaston Boulet, et
    de Blanche Dieuzy.

Yes, of course will keep you updated. I wrote them/him explaining how I got the ID and asked if they would like to have it back to the family. Sent also a pic of it so they can verify the original owner.

Wrote in English though, hopefully that is not a problem for them. So far no response but lets see how it goes.

If there is no answer, I think I have a new travel destination ready then

Many thanks again. I kind of managed to understand it, since there were not that many words

Too bad no answer from the castle. I guess I need to visit them some day in the future.

You can try the townhall address, it might work. Worst case scenario, i can still phone there for you if you want.
