If the primary opposition to Obama were an autistic hedgehog that attacks children and sh*ts on the furniture, I'd vote for it.

My point exactly - YOU will vote GOP regardless of this plank - Breakfast may not vote GOP because of this plank. At some point the GOP should change focus from the fringe they have solidly in their back pocket to the undecided.

[ not to imply you are part of this particular fringe ]

    Digging the hole deeper

    From the Examiner

haron Barnes, a high ranking state Republican, came to the defense of her conservative colleague who she believes only "phrased it (his statement) badly."
Barnes was quoted by The New York Timessaying, "abortion is never an option." Barnes went on to biblically claim that, "If God has chosen to bless this person [the rape victim] with a life, you don’t kill it."

Ultimately the abortion plank is an empty gesture. Overturning Roe v Wade is not gonna happen so why waste political capital on it.

At what point is a convention platform idea stopping the campaign? did the Democratic campaign stop when suddenly a support Homose xual marriage platform was added for a vote?

X2. I will NOT vote for Obama, but can't bring myself to vote for some nutjob who caters to the Pat Robertsons of the party.

This thread is the reason the Republican Partly piss me off to no end. "It is the economy stupid!" FFS! Who is the PR managers of the GOP? Focus on your opponent's weakness, not yours? Fricking amazing. Meanwhile, Obama is laughing his ass off of what should be the biggest loss of his political career will be a victory.

I wonder what the under-vote will be in this election?

The realistic option is to focus on the GOP's strengths, and the Dem's weaknesses, AMONG the UNDECIDED that is if they want to win the elections.

I swear to Christ, heh, if you replaced the word Christian, with Muslim, but kept the same platform, there'd already be gunfire in the streets...

And debating various platform ideas is unrealistic for the GOP but OK for the Dems? got it You've already decided this idea has been adopted based on your bias and nothing substantive.
