I Thought that most special forces units around the world have their own channel through which to acquire equipment.
Anyhow I really think that politicians who cut down spending on defence are dumb at times. The soldiers on the frontlines are citizens too and deserve proper equipment to ensure their survival. If you have an army, than there is a moral obligation to maximise their chances of survival.
