Default Account Says Navy (SEAL) Author Wrote Book (No Easy Day) After a Slight

    And the firework begins...!!!

The former Navy SEALs member who is a co-author of a first-person account of the raid that killed Osama bin Laden was willing to break “the code of silence” honored by many commandos because of “bad blood” with his former unit, the elite SEAL Team 6, according to a new e-book written by other Special Operations veterans.

The e-book says the author, Matt Bissonnette, who wrote the book “No Easy Day” under the pseudonym Mark Owen, was effectively pushed out of SEAL Team 6 after he expressed interest last year in leaving the Navy and starting a business. Upset at how he had been treated, Mr. Bissonnette felt less compunction about writing a book that he knew might upset colleagues, the e-book authors say.

“How was he repaid for his honesty and 14 years of service?” a passage of the e-book asks. “He was ostracized from his unit with no notice and handed a plane ticket back to Virginia from a training operation.”
The e-book, “No Easy Op,” is scheduled to go on sale on Amazon on Monday, a day before Mr. Bissonnette’s book hits the market. The Pentagon has threatened legal action against Mr. Bissonnette because he did not submit the m****cript for review early enough in the publication process.

    NYT Book Review:

The Navy SEALs who killed Osama bin Laden on May 2, 2011, learned from ABC News that they had “gazelle legs, no waist, and a huge upper body configuration,” not to mention calloused hands and gigantic egos. They learned from other American news sources that they had taken part in a 45-minute firefight and that an armed bin Laden, once cornered, had tried to defend himself in his final moments, staring straight at the fighters who would shoot him. Their raid was being turned into a bad action movie.

sounds like a good book. Might pick up, but it doesn't look like we're going to get anything we don't already know on the obl mission.

Between this and the Jesse Ventura vs Chris Kyle stuff SEALs sure are soaking up the limelight.

I think the Navy ought to form a "SEAL Team Zero" which gathers in all the wannabe SEAL Walts and which can assume public responsibility and take credit for each and every past, present andfuture action by the other teams. That ought to allow them to operate in some kind of obscurity again

Uhh, this is the military we are talking about, not Lindsay Lohan. Any publicity is not always good publicity. As far as I can tell, all of this gossiping going on between SEALs and the media and whatever looks unprofessional.

What do you mean, "key" ? Is it for the promo, or leaked from readers ? And is it better written than Clancy ?
