    Damned good point!

The fact Iran increases the number of her troops is an additional sign that Assad's army is facing increasing difficulties.

    dumb question but...

How will the Iranians get there? Would Iraq, Saudi or Turkey allow military flyovers? Will they just sail around the long way? Civilian charters?

I wonder if Iraq would allow fly overs.

Iran's been known to smuggle arms in the luggage on civilian flights through Damascus International.

So they idea for Iran is to send troops to bolster Assad/Alawites while building a new Alawite army. I guess the last stage is to carve out an all Alawite homeland along the coast.
With the bloodlust running at an all time high unfortunately, I believe the Alawites days are numbered as a people in Syria.

1.From my POV its civil war going on right on supply line of iranian division placed in Lebanon. And this division involved in fighting and as added bonus have causalities.
2.No friends are fighting+whoever win will get ruined military.
3.So aside from general concern over civilians i wish to both sides complete victory.

    Not loosing sleep over this.

Because you achieved to have access to enough information about Bahrein ??
And what has the number to do with "ruthless dictators smashing in blood democratic will of the people" ?

They have in the past and al-Maliki is not going to say no to Tehran as long as it is putting pressure on al-Sadr not to kick him out.

Good side, bad side… The scale is important and is not comparable.
The figures about Bahrein's unrests were of some 70 killed. Maybe there were in reality few tens more that we don't know about… In Syria there are over 20K killed, over 60K disappeared that most of them are probably dead, hundreds of thousands of refugees.

    I actually agree with him.

Don't lose sight of this qualifier:

So aside from general concern over civilians i wish to both sides complete victory.
    Emphasis added.
