I can understand the frustration, but......... look at what we are potentially dealing with. Most people are not suicidal, meaning if they where going to do something evil at the airport they want to be able to walk away. When you have people who want to be famous in the hear-after, that changes a lot of things. If they plan on blowing up a airline with everyone on board, they are willing to murder, babies, children, old people, any one. That means they are probably willing to use a baby, children, old people or anyone to deliver the weapon of choice. There are a lot of choices and methods.

I don't know what the answer is. I think there are problems and there is more we can do to make it better for flyers. I hope the decisions makers are up to the task.
I understand what you are saying, but once they get to the airport, it's usually too late. These kinda things need to be, and are rooted out by the intelligence agencies before they make it to Dulles or JFK.

TSA is IMO a joke. There are plenty of documented cases where fake bombs have been smuggled on board by people who test their abilities. TSA is so focused on minutiae, that they miss the forest from all the trees.

On all my flights bar a single one, I've been treated with respect by the TSA. This is flying through some of the country's largest airports. Yeah it sucks to wait in a que and take off your boots, put em on again and run your pack through a scanner, but it usually goes by rather quick. Hell, one time I had defense spray that I'd forgotten in my winter jacket and TSA simply bagged it, patted me down and sent me on my way. No anal cavity searches, no FEMA death camps, no sitting in an airport detention room for hours. What I'm trying to get at is that so many of us seem to want to view every TSA agent as a baby eating devil in a blue uniform, talking about throwing drinks in their faces and sack/**** tapping them when they go for a pat down. Talk to some of them next time you fly, ask them about their job, about what made them want to apply.
