Romney denounces Democrats for ‘embracing President Obama’s shameful refusal to acknowledge that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital’

This is the prelude for the next big war in the ME. A really big one. Congrats Barry.
Having Jimmy Carter chiming in does not exactly give Obama the supporting Israel type.
This is a low blow from Romney - the GOP equivalent of the Dem's attack on Romney's work experience at Bane.
Obama's position on Jerusalem is the US Government's long standing position since 1967. Democratic & Republican Presidents before him have not changed this policy.
It depends on which lobbying group he is talking to: Obama Clarifies Remarks on Jerusalem.
"Jerusalem should be the undivided capital of Israel" --> "everybody has access to the extraordinary religious sites [...] but that Israel has a legitimate claim on that city." --> "Screw it, I don't need AIPAC this time around..."[/sarcasm]
While I think the current administration has displayed an incredibly dangerous level of naivete in some of its choices, such as this one, taking credit for stuxnet legitimizing state to state cyber warfare, what I find most disturbing is how a nation other than the US(due to its special interest influence) manages to keep itself top of mind in the US political psyche.
Israel is NOT the 51st state of the US.
It is a foreign nation with its own set of unique interests that often do NOT align with those of the US people, no matter how much some try to make people think otherwise.
Israel needs to be removed from the US political election headlines.
It is inappropriate, but it's been going on for so long most people seem to forget that fact.
You have it wrong........I am part of the "The US political process has been corrupted by special interests who are not acting in the best interest of American constituents" crowd.
Special interests DO have WAY too much influence and control over American politics.
The Israeli lobby just happens to be ONE part of it. So you can stop with the subtle attempts at portraying me as some sort of jew hating racist.
The problem isn't about Israel, the problem is about American politics...although many try to play the part of a political diva to keep pushing Israel front and center into American politics.
Israel isn't California...it isn't a US State.....it is as I stated...a foreign power whose interests quite often deviate from those of the United States.
If the far larger ethnic Chinese population in the US lobbied as openly and aggressively as the Jewish/Israeli special interest lobby did it would probably lead to McCarthyism 2.0. Everyone would see it as wrong.....it should be no different in this case.
It should be no different for Israel...but it's accepted because the Us political process is dangerously corrupt and the Jewish/Israeli lobby is quick to pull both the subtle and the blunt race card.
There are many Jews in the U.S. who are uncomfortable about Israel being the topic of national presidential conventions. I don't know how the hell Jerusalem became the topic of any party's platform to begin with? I feel like it's not AIPAC playing behind the scenes but someone at the DNC trying to court the Left or Obama's camp trying to send a message. How often has Jerusalem been a party platform subject?
@flagg I wonder how the dialogue would have developed if your nick wasn´t written in red.................................PS x2
