For a university work I strongly recommend direct sources, mainly the Senate and Assembly defense commission reports. That's were most journalists get their "inside sources", in public data...

    There you go.
    Senate:
    http://www.senat.fr/*******s-classes/cretrd.html (Missing word is Rapport).
    Assembly:
    http://www.assemblee-nationale.fr/co.../59046_tab.asp

That's all the data you need from precise doctrine points on X or Y, from detailed expenses.

Personally I always though the Senate reports and website clearer than the ones of the Assembly (they are classed by sessions and years, then by types).

That's "dry" data and obviously it's in French.

On doctrine and military insight you have the various publication of the Army (http://www.cdef.terre.defense.gouv.f...blications.htm ), including the quarterly published "Doctrine Tactique" that is published in english too: http://www.cdef.terre.defense.gouv.f...octrine_us.htm .

For example that one might have all of what you need http://www.cdef.terre.defense.gouv.f...eflections.htm

(Personally again I prefer the "cahiers de la DREX", that are usually more "in depth" works, but those are mostly in French even if some are NATO ready and have both version inside).
