Hello. I'm looking for a site with multiple reviews of firearms, particularly the Les Baer, Springfield, and Wilson Combat pistols, and any other pistols that would be good for IPSC (.45 APC and .38 super caliber pistols), the M1A Super Match, AR-15 reviews (by both Bushmaster and Colt in particular, comparisons), all Barrett rifle reviews and tactical shotgun reviews.
A lot of pictures would be appreciated, as well as information, as I might try to make airsoft versions of some of these weapons, and I just plain love reading about guns!
I am also trying to decide what I will want to purchase first... I'm stuck between an M1A, or a pistol for IPSC. I enjoy both a lot, which is my main reason for being stuck... I can own an M1A, and do some target shooting with iron sights or a scope as well as go hunting, ... or I can own a pistol that would be good for IPSC.
With all of these forums, it's best to first use the "Search" function before diving into questions; most times, you'll find that many of the questions you were about to ask have already been qualifiedly answered by a slew of other people. The great majority of the people that frequent these forums are helpful and glad to answer questions which they can answer knowledgably. Hope this helps you.
As far as your firearms selection, realize that likely a Springfield Armory M1A will be fairly expensive, especially when you consider ammo concerns with .308 vs .45. A well-built IPSC pistol may also cost as much as the M1A, depending on how customized you want it to be. Perhaps a good compromise would be to purchase a Limited IPSC/IDPA pistol that you can buy for sub-$1000 and still be competitive with. Les Baer and Wilson Combat make excellent, but expensive pistols; consider Kimber, Springfield, and perhaps even Dan Wessons for quality (and less expensive) 1911s for your first pistol. Also consider how often you will go shooting, and what your range limitations are; are you shooting at an indoor range? If so, an M1A would be impractical (and probably not even permissible on a public indoor range).
