I just LOVE the interceptors from the late 50's. So sleek, and that go-fast airframe, gawd...
This reminds me of the CF-105 Arrow, both are with very similar specs.
A shame they met the fate they did
I'm no expert....but those two cockpits look pretty clean and tidy for their era......it actually looks like the FIRST cockpits(based on the 1959 date) that had much in the way of thoughtful design in terms of layout/workload.
Most military AND commercial cockpits of that era and later look like a blind schizophrenic slapped them together.
Interesting......that air to air missile looks like a Phoenix...maybe the predecessor design of Phoenix?

The AIM-47 was used as a base for the AIM-54 Phoenix (originally the AAM-N-11), intended for the General Dynamics F-111B.
What a beautifull plane that would have been...
F-107/8 is almost the same size of SU-34..
Thanks for sharing..
This mock-up was based on the A-5/RA-5C airframe, correct?

seeing this american "arrow", now i want to watch that movie about canadian avro arrow...
such out of that era design with out of that era specs... just increadible and beautifull!
Yes, Thanks for sharing. Those big delta wing or similar interceptors from the late 50s and early 60s were awesome.
F-108, Arrow, TSR-2....
The F-106 was the most successful of that breed, deployment-wise.
If I remember well, despite the cancellation of this program, it as not in vain. The North American A-5 Vigilante retained alot of the characteristics in fuselage from the F-108.
Seems like a aircraft well ahead of it's time.
