Bunch of my buddies were on this pump with 1/2. I would have gone with them but didn't have enough time left on my contract, so I got kicked over to 1/8 to deploy with them instead.

To the first, not that I recall. When I was aboard the USS Ponce (LPD-15), the well deck ramp was open like that as well, even in the most adverse weather. To the second, yes, they have A/C. Whether or not it's working at any given time is another question altogether.

I always thought the LAV and Stryker were related. Lean more everyday on here LOL

They use the same automotive platform, the swiss designed MOWAG Piranha.

Cool pics, being a LAV Marine seems to be a awesome job

Somewhat. The LAV-25 is based on the Mowag Piranha I. The Stryker is derived from the Canadian LAV III, which in turn is based on the Mowag Piranha III.

Wilco is gay but his pics aren't.

I thought you were still on the Ospreys.

Begging you pardon in advance for my ignorance, here´s a couple of questions:

    1)

Doesn´t the rear door of this ship close completely ?

    2) Do the armored vehicles depicted have some sort of air conditioning ?

    Thanks in advance : D
    1. Yes but they opened it for startups on certain days.
    2. Yeah the HMMWV's do but we don't.

That would suck in the desert I would think.
We got send to the med with no aircon in the boat at all , just a deskfan taped to the ceiling.
Not so bad underway at sea but in port I used to sleep on deck a lot .
