The new technology has been developed through CIT , which is a company founded in 1990, leader in the design and production of automatic warehouse and robotics.The company is owned by Mr. Cosimo CIOFFI who invented in 2002 an innovative composite material ( alloys and polymer) suitable to protect from fire-arms' bullets and edged weapons. Since 2003 till 2007 the innovative composite material was extensively tested. Panels (size 300 mm x 250 mm) went through ballistic trials performed at Italian MoD test ranges to prove capabilities and performance. These tests demonstrated the excellent performance of the composite material superior to those of other third parties' panels already in service. The composite material is currently under patent registration. We decided, in order to give more prosperity and future to the new technology, to partner with an organization which includes more than 8 companies, spread over around the world, all dealing with defence activities from more than 50 years. For this purpose and together with Stefano Maccagnani, owner of the just mentioned organization, we created a Newco named B-MAX which will develop the business related to body armor and all the future applications.

It looks heavy. Does anyone know how much it weighs?
If you want to nullify totally the energy a thick plate make sense, on Italian newspaper they say it's a mix of both plastic polymer and metal alloy aimed a pretty much shredding the bullet instead of just stopping it.
Much like a sandbag does it.
Does it matter if its heavy? IF it works, then you can make medieval armor out of it and send soldiers into melee combat with 2 handed swords. Imagine how taliban would react after seeing Crusaders marching at them and they weapons are being useless agaisnt them.
