Russian special forces patrol Olympic Park near the Olympic Cauldron during the 2014 Winter Olympics, Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, in Sochi, Russia. Sochi hotel guests are walking, unchecked, past unused metal detectors. Security guards are no longer poking around at the pockets and ankles of every single person entering Olympic facilities. Tangerines and bottles of Coke are making it through security barriers that banned them two weeks ago. For all the warnings that security in Sochi would be invasive and aggressive, it's appearing more uneven, and in places almost relaxed.

Clashes in Ukraine leave 4 dead; deadline looms

An anti-government protester dressed in Ukrainian national dress throws a stone during clashes with riot police outside Ukraine's parliament in Kiev, Ukraine, Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014.

KIEV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukraine's festering political crisis took a deadly turn Tuesday, as thousands of anti-government protesters clashed with police outside Ukraine's parliament.

Law enforcement agencies gave the demonstrators a deadline of 6 p.m. (1600GMT) to stop the confrontations and vowed to restore order.

Dozens of protesters and police were injured in the clashes Tuesday, which broke out after opposition leaders accused pro-government factions in parliament of dragging their feet on a constitutional reform that would limit presidential powers — a key opposition demand.

Christ! Not good what is happening in Ukraine. There's a video on LL where the protesters throw an actual grenade at the police. I'm not posting it here.
