Slovak MOD to receive 20 million euros from U.S

Slovak minister of defence Martin Glvač have annouced that 5th special force regiment and MOD will receive 19-20 million euros from US goverment. Slovakia has never received support of that size.
The money will be spendt on the SOTG unit that will be deployed to afganistan from february 2014 to february 2015. The unit will be operating alongside of US and ANA special forces. MOD is planing to use that money on rearmament of 5psu and on purchase of MRAP vehicles.

Any favourite MRAP by SK MOD, or just yours? I suggest it would have to be US vehicle.

According to pictures from the Slovak troops thread on here, it looks like their SOTG is already equipped with US-made MaxxPro MRAPs.

We used MaxxPros too, but I don't know if we had to pay for them. I belive it was just borrowed for free, but will do some research to confirm it. Sure we didn't brought them back to Czechia. (first time using that word but i hate to write republic all the time)

Well we have RG32, but those are only used as mobile shortwave radio station on the MOKYS system. In afganistan we have borrowed Maxxpro and RG33 from us military (and the troops are very satisfied with those). But i hope that we will buy someting we cam use in post-afgan era, like M-ATV or the RG outrider.

Well the LMV is a whole another story. They were purchased for the SOF operation 2012-2013. We were supposed to get 40 but then goverment changed it to 10. Price was ca. 1 million a piece (a bit over price). And they only left the barrcks for the IDET. So yeah.........
