US calls out UN diplomats for coming to budget meetings drunk
UNITED NATIONS --The United States thinks the United Nations has a drinking problem.
Ambassador Joseph M. Torsella, who represents the U.S. on the U.N.'s budget committee, said Monday that the tense process of negotiating the world body's annual budget is made more complicated by the number of diplomats who turn up drunk.
It's the UN, for crying out loud! They come to budget meetings with drugs in their veins, and lunacy in their heads on a regular basis. It is no longer an organization designed to fulfill the promise of human kind world wide! It is a den of thieve and rich Arabic butchers, designed to give gainful employment for brothers-in-law who have become too much of a drag on the home clan.
Really, when was the last time the UN did anything constructive- world wide? When?

On a related note -- it's what diplomats do. Hiding behind their immunity, they show up to places drunk, ignore speed limits as a matter of principle and keep the local sex industry up and going. It is what it is.
Its why politicians should be drug tested before taking office and have random drug testing during their term.
They love to impose this upon they people they so called "work for", then they should be the first in line.
But then, lead by example, became extinct long ago in the political circus.
Diplomats ≠ politicians. Actually my money is on the culprits being career diplomats more often than politicians with diplomatic service. Politicians always have one eye on their image while career diplomats barely ever get named in the press.
