Default Need help ... identify unit and period.

This is a picture from early, mid 60s, probably from a unit in the Congo. The soldier is possibly a merc, 5-commando (Mike Hoare), or the later 6-Commado. He could be from another unit, UN unit etc., that served in he Congo. Can anyone identify the unit patch, unit, and narrow the time period and location?

Well, I think you have it ... some darn strange equipment for 1990s. Looks to have a circa mid-50s Randall knife. But the granade is a strong indicator I overlooked. Thanks.

my first guess was 1990s ex-yugoslavia. I wasn't that far off.
