Default Teen Dies After Eating Cookie

Robin Fitzpatrick never knew peanuts could kill her son.
Cameron Groezinger-Fitzpatrick, 19, a college freshman who suffered from a severe nut allergy, died last Friday after eating a cookie that contained peanut oil. His friend had sworn it didn't.
"We were all so shocked, it came out of nowhere," Fitzpatrick told ABCNews.com. "For 19 years, he had been knock-on-wood safe."

My kids have a friend who is allergic to just about everything under the sun, poor guy. Bit restrictive on what we have in the casa when he is around, but worth it. I feel for this young man and family.

Make your kids go outside and play in the dirt with cats and dogs at as young an age as possible. Dangerous allergies were pretty much unknown in children of the 70s and before.

now the friend who swore it didn't contain nuts, did he do it mistakenly, or did he intentionally feed him nuts for the lolz? Accident or murder?

He just said it didn't taste like it had nuts in it. It doesn't take much for someone to have a severe allergic reaction.

Don't be an asshole, a young man died.

To be fair, the story itself was a little bit misleading at first. The intro made it seem as though the friend could be playing a prank or something.

Poor guy....RIP young Fella! Condolences to the family and friends

It is sometimes terrifying how allergies, especially food-related ones, can seem to come out of the blue when signs weren't present for the good chunk of a person's life.

My girlfriend told me that a student that was doing CPR on a CPR dummy had an allergic reaction and almost died, she actually needed CPR to be performed on her. The dummy had not been used for several months and was decontaminated after its last use. Like you said, it doesnt take much for some people.
