    Judges argues that:

    • indeed, several members of the association had been convicted for *** crimes but these crimes could not be connected to their work for the association;
    • indeed, the association for pedophiles “Martijn” is downplaying the risks of ****** contact with young children, is condoning such contacts and even glorifying them;

    But:
    [*******#ff0000]The Dutch society is resilient enough to be able to withstand such undesirable opinions and objectionable behavior[/COLOR]

    Judges are on dope?

    WTF? I assume they will be letting kids vote, drive and drink booze soon. I mean, if they are old enough to have ***, then surely they can toss back a few brewskis.

    The thread title is false. A NAMBLA-like pedophile group has been ruled to be legal. S3xual relations with children is still illegal. U.S. courts made precisely the same decision decades ago, which is why NAMBLA is not banned here. This was the correct decision. Talking about criminal behavior and even advocating its legalization is protected free speech so long as you do not actively conspire to commit criminal acts. We do not and should not have laws against thought crimes.

    In other words they give to the child molester a nice attaboy that he's not a pervert and he should not have any guilt, some legal group is on the job for his assistance.

    And? Nobody is saying their free speech is not offensive. But it is legally protected, and should be. Offensive speech requires the strongest protection of all as it is the most under attack.

    S.ex with children is illegal! The right to associate is protected!

    Two different things that do not exclude themselves. The second is a constitutional right while the fist is an obligation imposed by law. In principle, the constitutional right gives you permission to try to change the law.

    This is just like the Nazi party issue in the US. It shows the robustness of the legal system, by making rulings based on laws and not on public perception of a right cause. This news should be taken positively (good Dutch legal system) rather than bad.

    Good thing I read more, I was almost starting to insult the NL Judges.

    Though, it's still disturbing to let those sickos congregate to talk about their "love for children". It's actually disgusting to even think about it !!

    These associations should be for helping them get therapies and talk about their problem, and not a grouping of pedos patting each other on the back !

    Yep, the association was outlawed last year but this decision has been overturned. The ruling parties are currently proposing legislation to outlaw the association nonetheless. This will have an easy majority in the house of representatives.

    I rarely agree with him, but: Above words are wise words!

    Indeed. Thought crimes are not the domaine of dictatorships and other weirdo regimes anymore, they have slowly slipped into the mainstream of our democracies..
