Fascinating poll on conspiracy theories in America.

A full 18% of 3rd party voters in 2012 election believe that "shape-shifting reptilian people control our world by taking on human
form and gaining political power to manipulate our societies."

28% of Americans believe "a secretive power elite with a globalist agenda is conspiring to eventually rule the world through an authoritarian world government." This spikes to 34% of Republicans and 35% of Independents.

The only conspiracy theory with majority support is that Lee Harvey Oswald did not act alone. 51% say that he did not.

I wonder if, when asked about the reptilians, they respond seriously.

Could be but it was 3% for Obama and 5% for Romney...what makes 3rd party voters more likely to lie about believing in lizard people?

And probably much more than half of the rest of the world's population.

Know your messenger. Public Policy Polling polls such things like "the approval rating of God". It conducts polls only for Democrat campaigns and progressive organizations.

This is a serious question after reading the article:
When Americans say "the world" do they mean the world (Europe, Africa, Asia, Oz, North and South 'merica, and the poles) or are they talking about the US?

Ehhh...probably to the vast majority of low information voters, they are one and the same.
