    Default Finnish Mortar Sight

    I bought a Finnish mortar sight from Numrich and have looked high and low for what mortar it belonged too. Here is some pics. Any info would be good.

    Kind of reminds me of our M2 Aiming Circle(used to align gun systems), interesting piece.

    Thanks Virus! As soon as i saw aiming circle i looked and found that it is called a Carl Zeiss aiming circle.

    replaced pic. That is now going to be a part of my "war room". Im displaying my military stuff out in the living room for all to see. I will post pics when that is completed.

    it's German made\ex-german, so i'm guessing it's the 8cm Granatwerfer 34, possibly made to fit captured/inherited soviet mortars?

    so its an aiming circle and not a sight.

    the C2 sight used by the Uk (and probably everyone else in the world) is used on our mortars and MG in the SF role. it is an exact copy of the one the Germans (?) invented and used ontheir mortars and guns (sf) in WW2. some thing just cannot be bettered. the one in your pic looks the same just in different casing.
