    5/3/2013 - TRANSIT CENTER AT MANAS, Kyrgyzstan (AFNS) -- An Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker crashed May 3 in northern Kyrgyzstan. Emergency response crews are on scene. The status of the crew is unknown.


    The crew and aircraft are assigned to the Transit Center at Manas near Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.


    The cause of the crash is under investigation.

    The aircraft tail sign is AMC 38877, it is with 22 Air Refueling Wing
    There are reports (unconfirmed) of a loud bang at the time of crash (either before or after the crash - not clear).

    A refuelling plane from the US Manas airbase in Kyrgyzstan crashed after taking off, the emergency situations ministry told AFP on Friday.

    [SIZE=3]If that tail number is correct I think it's from[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, sans-serif] MacDill AFB outside of Tampa[/FONT][/SIZE]

    No word on survivors yet, but the photos don't look very promising
