    Parris Island, SC - Staff Sgt. Vargas, 28, from Longmont, Colo., is one of a handful of drill instructors responsible for preparing new recruits for training. Kilo Company is scheduled to graduate Nov. 22, 2013. Parris Island has been the site of Marine Corps recruit training since Nov. 1, 1915. Today, approximately 20,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 13 weeks of rigorous, transformative training.     USS BONHOMME RICHARD, At Sea - A landing support specialist with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, watches a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Reinforced), 31st MEU, prepare to lift a load of cargo off the flight deck here, Sept. 13. The Helicopter Support Team of CLB-31 and the crews of the helicopters play important roles in the 31st MEU’s capability to execute external lifts. The HST provides ground support to the CH-53E, which can lift up to 36,000 pounds. This lift capability can be used to overcome difficult terrain and land-based obstacles when executing logistical re-supply. The 31st MEU is the Marine Corps’ force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region and the only continuously forward deployed MEU.

    I've heard of guys who have been given the MOS designated marksman ect. for being good shooters, but giving the bad shooters the MOS indirect fire infantryman seems a bit mean
