    The Ukrainian navy's flagship, the Hetman Sahaydachny, remains loyal to Ukraine and is "proudly flying the Ukrainian flag", Rear-Adm Andriy Tarasov says in a statement published on the Defence Ministry's website. The Hetman Sahaydachny frigate is currently docked at a naval base on Crete, Greece, on the way back to Ukraine from an anti-piracy mission in the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean, the statement says.

    To me he sounds like he's got some mental issues.
    He claims to be in Crimea, but at the same time has insight in NATO planning and US/UK diplomacy.
    Is he James Bond or something?

    Moscow starts propaganda assault on Ukraine:

    Russia 24 -channel show russian man who says he was hired maidanists to snipe at the police in Kievan protests. In the same news it is mentioned that mercenaries from the USA and Germany are heading to Krim to provoke violence and loot.

    Tv shows refugees escaping Ukraine and into Russia. (showing images from Shehyn crossing on Ukraine's western border where people head into Poland)

    Russian politicians are shown on TV reassuring the public support for Putin. Also images of anti-Ukranian protest in Moscow are shown. (in earlier reports it was mentioned that the protestors were government officials brought on the scene.)

    According to Hromadske TV admiral Berezovsky was dismissed from his position before he announced his defection and was replaced by Rear Admiral Sergey Haiduk.

    Unfortunately in French, a very interesting article on the divisions among the EU ;

    http://bruxelles.blogs.liberation.fr/coulisses/2014/03/ukraine-comment-lunion-europ%C3%A9enne-sest-pris-les-pieds-dans-le-tapis-russe.html

    Saliant points :
    Les Européens sont divisés entre les «maximalistes antirusses» qui, comme la Pologne ou les Baltes, veulent «bouffer du Russe et faire sentir à Moscou qu’elle a perdu l’Ukraine» ; selon un fonctionnaire du Service européen d’action extérieure (SEAE), et ceux qui, comme l’Allemagne, la France, l’Italie, l’Espagne ou la Belgique, estiment qu’il faut garder les Russes à bord en n’intervenant pas en Ukraine. «Mais on doit être subtil : on ne doit pas donner l’impression que le sort du pays va être réglé par un ******inium UE-Russie, car ce serait inacceptable pour la Pologne et les Baltes à qui cela rappellerait un peu trop le pacte germano-soviétique, prévient-on à Paris. Il faut aussi qu’on réfléchisse dès maintenant au statut futur de l’Ukraine. Quelque chose qui s’approchera de celui de l’Autriche avant 1989 : ni dans l’Otan ni dans l’Union.» Pour la France, il est en effet hors de question d’offrir une «perspective européenne» à Kiev, comme le réclame Varsovie, ce serait un point de non-retour pour Moscou.
    Europeans are divided between the " anti-Russian maximalist " which, like Poland or the Baltic , want to " eat the Russiasn and make Moscow feel it has lost Ukraine" , according to an official of the European External Action Service ( EEAS) , and those who, like Germany, France , Italy, Spain and Belgium, believe we should keep the Russians on board by not intervening in Ukraine. "But we should be subtle : we should not give the impression that the fate of the country will be set by an EU-Russia agreement, because it would be unacceptable for Poland and the Balts as reminiscent of the the German -Soviet pact as Paris warns . It should also reflect the future status of Ukraine. Something that will approach that of Austria before 1989 . Neither NATO nor the EU " For France, it is indeed out of the question to offer a European " perspective " to Kiev, as Warsaw is claiming , it would be a point of no return for Moscow.
