Welcome to the jungle!
The Training Center is also open for friendly nations.
In the picture below we can see a Foreign Legion Officer, Argentine Commando(black beret) and Equatorian Special Forces member.

Indian Battalion - Soldiers enlisted from many different tribes. They use a mix of modern and traditional weapons. The first in the picture carries a Zarabatana (blow-gun). It is generally nine or ten feet long, and it's made of two separate lengths of wood, each scooped out so as to form one-half of the tube. The poisoned dart kills in three seconds!
Balestra - A kind of "bow"
Can cross a human body from a distance up to 100 meters.
The completely silent operation of this weapon makes it perfect for eliminating scouts and sentry guards.

Can you find the snipers in the next picture?
Traps
That's the bed. It's far from the ground, to avoid ants, scorpions..
It already come with a mosquito net.
If you survive the training, you'll receive this patch...

The only problem i'd have with the jungle would be the spiders.
Are they common ?
I know there are LOADS ... but how common is it to see them ?
The French army sends about 6 students every year to the CIGS (SF, Marine, Legion).
This has been going on since the end of the 70s and it is a requirement to become the head of the jungle instructors in the French jungle schools in French Guyana.
BTW, the pic with a Legion officer is at least 15-20 years old.
No one beats Brasil in the jungle.
Boas fotos, algumas delas retiradas da revista Segurança e Defesa que tinha um óptimo artigo sobre o centro.
Thanks for the pictures.
I'll visit Manaus in November. Any good recommendations? Is there any military museum?
Thanks!
Nice pics!
I saw the documentary where some French students followed the instruction, comparison was made with the French Jungle School in Guyane ...
You can visit the CIGS Zoo and if you are crazy enough, there's also a course for civilians.Originally Posted by rafaelcb

Unbelivable. Was so lucky to get to know a guy that went to an Officer Acadamy in Honduras. He showed me his pics wich reminded much of these. The stories he told. Made me glad for our Arctic envoirement.![]()
