Morty, is the demo released today the one with the Mig29A vs. Mirage 2000, and then an A10 with various ground vehicles around?
I downloaded a version that was uploaded from a CD in a German magazine the other day, and I want to know if it's the same demo as the one released today.
the demo was distributed by Ubi to heaps of mags and yeah that german mag leaked it early. the demo is the same one everywhere.
One A-10 mission, One Mig29 missions (against a Mirage2000)
however there are already stacks of people modding the mission, adding you weapons and changing the wheather etc...i think some people even added new a/c.
Depends on what you're looking for. If you want anything, IL-2 Sturmovik is probably the best. It's 2 years old I think but still has amazing graphics and an amazing flight engine. If you want a modern-day flight sim, pickings are slim (hey, rhyme!). I'm not currently aware of any aside from Lock On, which doesn't come out until November I believe.
I can't recommend LOMAC enough though. Great graphics, intense dogfighting, and an A10!!!
there is also the Microsoft Flight Simulator series 2004 just came out.
also one called X-Plane www.x-plane.com you can download it...and then do stuff to make the time limit go away....
ok this game sucks i hate it the controls are so ridiculous i spent an hour trying to figure it out and still cant figure out how to shoot...anything, save yourself a migrane and dont get it luckily i dowloaded the demo, i guess this game was meant for one of those controllers.
A10 mission:
Press "7" to activate air-ground mode. Switch to your cannon or between LAU-61 rockets/CBU-87 cluster bombs using the appropriate keys. You'll automatically have a ZSU Shilka (AAA tank) targeted. Take it out with your cannon. When that is destroyed, you will automatically be given a new target, which will end up being a T-80, which I suggest using your cannon or the rockets on. Repeat using whatever weapons until they're all dead.
MiG29 mission:
Quickly press "4" to activate air-to-air mode, then "I" to activate your radar. You will automatically have missiles armed. When the Mirage 2000 enters the circle in the center of your HUD, hold down "Tab" or whatever key you have assigned to lock on to the Mirage. As soon as you're locked on it (there will be a smaller circle around the plane), fire the missile and pray to god he doesn't evade it. You have to do this very quickly as he's press close at the outset. If your missile doesn't hit, then immediately break off and try to get him in the center of your HUD again to get another lock. If he fires a missile at you, release chaff & flares and break in another direction. You can also arm and use your guns when you're about 1.5km from him, though you only have 100 rounds.
Good luck! The game is better than you give it credit for. And, uh, you might want to get a joystick if you don't already have one.
I downloaded lock-on for my pc and I found suggish... my pc isn't quite outdated yet..... pen4 2.5g, 1gb ram, ti4200 64mb for graphic.... anyone had trouble with this prog.?
The game is a demo and not really representative of the final version. At this point in development, the dev team is probably ironing out bugs and trying to optimize the frame rate. The graphics are also pretty advanced.
For now, I would just turn down some of the graphics you notice less.
