Here's mine. It has a different stock and a Butler Creek Heavy barrel but that's all.

Brownells is a good place to start, high end stuff like Volquartsens customs...seriously, do a search on 10/22s on google and there will be tons of stuff.

Quick question, has anybody here used the Sig Sauer Mosquito?

I've been getting into pistol shooting alot lately with my Uncles BHP (chambered in 9mm), and was looking at this nifty little thing for sheer ergonomics. It's chambered in .22 so I could just go to the range and practice all day for like 14 bucks. I'm alright now, but there is surely room for improvement and for getting fundementals down through and through that's pretty much unbeatable. (And yes, I already know I'm too young to buy it myself, I would just put up the money for it, and use it when I go to the range once a week.)

Is this thing crap, or does it have some potential?

Edit: Almost forgot about that thing, a guy I was talking too about pistol shooting referred me to it a while back.

There are wild variations out there. Carbon fiber barrels with a steel sleeve, fluted barrels, any stock you could possibly think of....Big money. They really are tack drivers though. I got my stock shaped from a place called Reinhart Fajen and did all the finish on it myself. I think they were bought out by Midway and no longer offer all the stuff they used to.

I have not shot it yet, just handled, and it feels like a small SIG 226. Ergonomics are fantastic. It's not crap at all, quite nice. Typical SIG quality. However as I said, I haven't shot it yet, so I don't know much beyond handling, but I've got enough experience with other SIG products to make me feel that it's worth the money and time invested.

Someone over Canadian GunNutz already working on it....... it is a personal project through.....it 'll makes you throw away the garden variety aftermarket stock on your SKS such as this:

    Now behold!!

It is built from some AK parts and the lower receiver is built from scratch....

The closest thing that looks like a Kakashnikov is the Vz.58(which has nothing in common with the AK's besides they both chambered for the same 7.62x39mm cartridge):

My friend owns one of these...all original. It shoots great.

Lately there have been quite a few semi-varients coming into the market, most are SBRs.

Nope, now if I wanted a Chi-Com AK, then Norinco is fine. I never found the appeal of getting a knock off of another manufacturer's firearm, especially when its not as good.

Yeah its cheap, but so what.

I like to shoot the guns I buy but I also don't want cheap knock offs. I bought a Mauser last year 80 dollars. That's it. Its in great shape and accurate. If I want a .22, then I might get another Ruger, maybe a bolt action this time. I KNOW they would be of good quality.

Plus, its made by the company that ripped of the AR and the sold the license to make the rip-off to Iran, so I like to think I have some sort of ethical values...

Avoid the Carbon Fibre like the plague, I had a Butler Creek one on my 10/22, it started out ok, then it would lose zero about every ten rnds.
I got in contact with the BC customer service and they switched it out no questions asked, they even upgraded me for my troubles, I now have a heavy fluted barrel.

These guys are great to deal with, lots of deals.

I changed out the hammer and sear for one of the ones on their website, which is actually a Power Custom package. I couldn't engage the safety, so I phoned PC and sent the internals off to him and he hooked me up. It breaks at about 2-1/4lbs now, the thing is sweet.

I actually ended up going over to Richmond to see my brother and cousin and we went shooing on the lower field on my aunts ranch. It was fun and the .45 is sweet

I'm still up in the air about this, I need to make a decision on it. I may not get much shooting in, just allot of jaw wagging which is cool.
It would be cool to 'represent' though
