I used to want a S&W .41 mag really bad. Eventually, I bought a .44 (S&W M29), which is pretty close. Is ammo expensive, especially compared to .44 mag and .45 Long Colt?
I think the .41 mag is a good caliber, and like a lot of other good designs, just never had the luck to be more successful. If I remember correctly, the San Francisco PD equipped their officers with .41 mags back in the '70s or '80s.
