Any of you chaps with the nice gun collections happen to have unmarried daughters in their late teens-early 20's? Hell, with Collections like Dragunov's i'd bloody convert and take gay sons as well

How's about the rifle? MP44 or Stg 43?
Of course, I know the MG is an MG34.

    Excellent weapons.

Same for you LF_Dragunov. Shukran for posting the pics.

Nice A4, SMGLee. I like the different optics options. I'm thinking more and more of getting one.

    looks like a mp38 .....

we all know what turned out when Sigarms tried to copy the 551.

Just get rid of that stupid import-ban and you're fine.

Gaijinsamurai, it's a bnz '43 marked MP.40 with a fxo '44 MP.43 which was re-furbished by the East Germans at some stage in its life.

The MG.34 is a dot '45 one with Waffenampts and Israeli property stamps, so that'll have a bit of history behind it too.

So Mini-14's barrel is thinner profile towards the muzzle (like most hunting rifles are) and has generally more barrel whip than equally suited AR's when rapid firing - then again, no Mini-14 was designed for suppressive fire role. (heat does not kill it though) Barrel whip in Mini-14 is responsible for 3-4" (5-6" when it heats up) stringing at 100 yards at most (or it's sent back to the factory) - there are not very many shooters under 50 that can keep AR's shooting that well, anyhow... All this talk of MOA shooting and rapid fire with bargain basement AR's makes me wonder of personal honesty issues

90% of the rifle is in the shooter and how well they shoot it - I really don't need to know about your ineptitude with the particular firearm nor your attempts to blame it on the weapon I have no problem with Mini except my own worry, doubt and wish for a bigger stick - I know that it can empty the mag into the "black" at hundred yards with a stubby 24/7 front post and that's good enough (until I miss)

You don't use AR-15 in Call of Duty either.

I spend a lot time at gun stores. And I can count on one hand how many Mini-14s I see at them. No one buys them. They don't sell for **** today. Stores won't even take them in on trade. The AR-15 is just a better.

Ruger holds its value quite well and the Mini-14 has yet to find itself any on assault weapon ban list which means it will continue to sell in places like California where StukaJr and I live.

You keep talking about firearms you have never used!

So by all means go ahead and keep on making blanket generalizations and hanging out at gun stores and see how far that gets you. Window shopping and basing your observations on video games doesn't really qualify you to make any observations about firearms.

I shoot and own both firearms and both have their strong and weak points none of which you will find from playing Call of Duty

all this .243 bashing is forcing me to reply, this is my Winchester Model 70
in .243 great pig gun, although i hear what you are saying in regards to mud and matting on some of the bigger pigs, however i think it would only really matter at extended range,

A lot of farmers over here have .243s good practical calibre for the game and terrain over here.

Also a pic of my Enfield mk 4 for all the WW2 buffs

great to see everyones collection, such a shame we cant get semi autos here i would love one of those M14s!!

Love the Mk4, looks like yours has the volley sights, mines only got the war time mass production peep sight with the 300 and 600 yard settings.

I hear you on the M14

As for the .243's as I said I'm just talking from my experience, plenty of people still love their .243's, I stick to the old saying "Beware the one gun hunter". I would rather have a a 5.56 for smaller stuff and a nice mid size like .303 for bigger game, more rifles, but thats just me

I have shot a lot of different guns. from the tri-pod mounted 50 cal machine gun to uzi's to 50 cal sniper rifle to the 50 cal S&W 500 to 9mm pistols. I don't bash any gun as long as the owner uses what the gun is made for. I personally own a Ruger 357, s&w 500, 3 muzzle loaders, 2 winchester model 70-270's, and a rem. model 1100 3"mag with a full choke shot gun. My older brother shoots a browning 243. he has taken many large mule deer with a single shot. If the shooter is a good shot then a smaller caliber rifle will do the job with less damage to the animal
