This may sound stupid, but I just had a epiphany. While shooting my AR15 I noticed that Wolf ammo sounded softer than when I shot Federal. It confused me for a while then I realized one was .233 and the other was 5.56 respectively, so I deduced that 5.56 with the higher pressure would seem louder to me. (The only other ammo experience I have is the standard green tip we shoot in the Marines). Am I correct in my reasoning? Thanks

Yep the xm193 is higher pressure ammo. That said wolf is under powered even against regular .223 ammo. It's why I ha short stroking issues with it when one of the gas rings on my bolt had a piece missing out of it, but I could fire xm193 all day long.

If you're shooting with carbine length 16 inch barrel, make sure you have a minimum of a H buffer (marked with a "H"). It slows the cyclic rate a little because a lot of ARs tend to be over-gassed and helps guard against premature wear. This is more of an issue if you're shooting 5.56.

The order total came to 1047.99$, with a 300$ down payment, leaving me at 747.99$ to go. A little bit more expensive than what I was quoted last week, but I am not to worried about it, as I will probably be able to fanagle the extra 70$ into ammo and p-mags.

I reworked my G19 internally and externally. I polished some internal parts, and the trigger pull's a lot more crisp now.
A slight/small grip reduction was done with a dremel, as I didn't like the bulb in the back of the grip. I also grounded the front finger grooves a little more. I also re-stippled the grip with the old soldering iron.
    Basic "before" picture:

Bought a good Mosin Nagant 91/30 today, they were on sale and I couldn't help it. Didn't even have to beg my girlfriend because she's awesome. 99$, They have usually been going for about 175$ around here recently, not even kidding.

Its a 1932 Tula with a Hex receiver, not much else to say really, its a Mosin.

Incidently the first rifle I ever shot was my brother's mosin and I have shot it often, so I'm already pretty familiar with everything.

Now its time for the cleaning, ughhh....

College is nasty. I spent over a thousand this past year (freshman) with almost nothing to show for it... That's just spending money too.

To get on topic though, gunshow here in VA this weekend. Hoping to pickup my first firearm at a good deal. I want to get a nice 870 express tactical, but since I haven't found anywhere around here to shoot buckshot, I'll probably get the S&W M&P 15-22. Good plinking fun and training for the career that's just a little ways away.

So I found a 6.5x55 Swede Mauser in my girlfriends attic and it's immaculate. Her mom is going to give it to me as a birthday gift

Nice. My brother has one, and those things shoot well. The fact that the factory 6.5 round works well on most game is an added benefit.

First ever centrefire i put a large number of rounds through was a 6.5.

KAC SR-15 uses a carbine weight buffer.

I can't remember, but doesn't the SR15s use the midlength gas system?

I put a H buffer in my lower (16 in carbine length gas sys upper), and noticed a slightly smoother impulse when shooting higher pressure stuff.
