I am going to get me my firearms licence as a christmas present, and if they dont **** it up, I am also getting the concealed carrying allowance.
happy x-mas
Please, just remember us who are unfortunate enough to be in countries which prohibit private gun ownership.

Nice choice PILMAN
I stumbled across this 1911 thinking it was one of the new Colt WWI Repro's then i looked closer. It looked like it had the hell beaten out of it! maybe it had been places and shot at people?
From all the amateur research i've done over the last 2 weeks, i don't know if i'm right but from the markings and studying other Colts from the same period, i think it was made sometime in between 1918 and 1920. it has a serial number that isn't in any list i could find, has an X before it, so i'm thinkin it was rearsenaled at some point, but sometime before WWII?? because its not parkarized like most rearsenaled pre A1, 1911's and it still has the diamond checkered grips. It also has a "National Match Barrel" i don't know if that makes it an actual Colt National Match or what. all i know is that it is a very old 1911 and it was a awesome find.
edit: actually the barrel says, "Colt 45 Auto Match" i don't know if thats all too important, but i went on www.coltautos.com and this is what i got when i looked for the barrel "Original National Match barrel marked "COLT 45 AUTO MATCH" with "MB" in a circle on the left barrel lug."
If anyone is a 1911 expert i'd really really like some help in findin the history of the gun. i been googling and searching for the last 2 weeks. pm me. thanks guys.
