This question might sound stupid,......but how comes Moisin Nagants are so popular in the States????

Edit: I never even touched one and I don't know anyone who owns one so I really don't know sh!t about them.
I often see them in local Gun shops but I can't remember having seen one on a range.

well...i get two kinds of people lookin for 'em. Curio & Relic collectors eat these things up, most anyways(not the snobby ones. i get those kind of people in everyonce in a while.) Or...people who want a cheap gun to go plink with. I mean at prices ranging from 70-100 bucks, thats a steal for a big bore center fire rifle.

I know(Irish_11 has a spoterized M38..its pretty cool) and have had people who sporterize their mosins. If you clean it up and get it bore-sighted it'd make a decent deer gun...its no M700 but they are accurate.

heres a pic of my m38. Its a 1943 make with an ATI stock and the best recoil pad I've ever known (you cant even feel it going off, its crazy)

I bought it durring a competition with one of my friends. The Idea was you had $150 to spend on a surplus gun and after some tweeking see which one was 1)more accurate and 2)more fun to shoot. He chose a sporterized m1917. I won on both accounts. Due mainly to his having a shotty stock and bad scope mounts they drifted all over the place. He since traded it for an M1. Wise move if I do say so myself.

Thanks ...that's just a small part of it.. you collection is very beautiful too.
I need to take more pics. I got last week a very nice SIG 550

    Here are a couple more

My Fav 22LR Rifle. It gets boring shooting in the same hole all day
It's the Civilian version of http://world.guns.ru/sniper/sn57-e.htm

Here is a Chinese copy of the M1A, The M305. This is not polytech POS. It has an excellent
reciever but the rest have to be replaced by USGI parts to make a higher precision rifle.

Negative Creep, Is that an original AK-47 you've got? I don't see many of those around.

I hesitated to get the first Schmidt Rubin, I had a opportunity to get for $100..... bad mistake. I had a MAS 56 in 7.5 frog. Only rounds available was Syrian crap.. So I eventually traded it off.

I thought the SR was similar but it is not. The bullet is the .308 and brass is available at a very reasonable price, See Graf and Sons (loaded ammo is good price too)

The SR is a exceptional shooter. Even with "buck horn" style sights. It shot better than my 03 A3 and 6.5 Swiss target mauser. My P17 out shot it.

Remington made Mosins for the Czar. Very nice rifle. Some may have been used by US Expeditionary forces sent to Russia during the "counter revolution".

Seckfire, you seem to like your scope mounted high. I had a scope on M1A1, and took it off.... too high and I was not going to basterize the rifle to lower it.

My next buy is going to be a handgun that is slim and not obvious if I'm carrying ( recommendations please!, after that an M-1 Garand, other than that I'm doing trips out of state for magazine capacities over 10 rounds

Oh and in Los Angeles we have a term for a Gal who works and gives you the money, they are called "race horses" actually I think it's a prison term.

Like when you get out of the can you need to get yourself a race horse homie
