    America?

America made Savage(?) Enfields, and also made Mosins for the Russians, which US soldiers used in the war against the Reds.

Haha, that really was a guess. The Ross just looked familiar from an old article I read. I've seen that little girl shoot Hollis, maybe I could just be a distant cousin that she pawns off duplicate guns on...

I'm pretty sure H2O needs to ship me one of those so I can have a reason to buy more stock wood.....

Hollis, was the Mosin made by Remington by any change?

I have no details on this weapon, but we (my family) believe it dates back to the American Civil War.

There is some engraving here, but it needs to be cleaned off to read it completely.

Those are English Bar locks. Looks like a square hooked breech. Really nice double.

OK, you guys got it. The Enfield is a Savage, and the Mosin was made by Remington.

Aerosoul, Yep Cali Joe is right, very nice side by side.

Cali Joe, I don't know, Regardless what my daughter might do, my son would probably jump in. He is pretty quite about hunting and firearms. I made him a AK like his sister because he asked why I did not make one for him. Surprised me. He does not want to be left out.
He is pretty proud of his Savage 99.

That splinter type forend is definitely English in style. That's a quality firearm, notice the screw in the tang is aligned perfectly with the bore.

    My plans:

Two will become ChiCom Crazy Horse M-14SE SDM clones with original barrels in USGI synthetic stocks.

Two will go into Flat Dark Earth TROY M14 MCS stocks - I'm unsure of the barrels I want for these.

One that is not pictured will be used to build a M14K.

That's what I have planned - who know's what will really happen.
I figure it's going to take 18 months or more.

Punch, no I let my FFL lapse.

Hey I saw something,.... a chinese Mauser. Looked like it was made from old beer cans (back when they had steel cans) and what ever they could find. I checked the head space (rifle belongs to a friend) and it was GTG.. BUT!!! I don't think I would shoot.

Are those the canadian imported M14's? If not we get regular shipments from china and they keep getting better and better. My buddy just picked one up I couldn't belive how smooth the machining was.

    Good Luck with your projects...

No, these are all old ChiComs (POLY TECH & NORINCO) imported into the US long ago.

The NEW Norincos available in Canada are said to be excellent. To bad they are illegal in the US...
