To clean the suppressors off our AWs the armourers just sit them in some type of acid mix for a while and then leave them sitting or hanging vertically over night to let the crap drain out. We have found a marked difference in the sound/report between ones that had been routinely cleaned and others that hadn't.

7.62 x 39 with 200 grain bullets, best twist is about a 1 in 8 twist. With the new laser range finders, range should not be a problem.

1:8 is the AK twist, so it works for most people. I'm working with two fixed sight settings 150m & 300m (for 710m/s 8g(124gr) round) which I don't want to change to keep the ability to fire accurately with the standard round without constant re-zeroing. So I simply decided to keep it below 100m for the subsonic and use the 150m sight, as it will allow hits in most targets.

Just reworked the 25, 50, and 100 meter berm as well as the shoot line this past weekend and then a group of us got together for CC drills.

That said, here are some pictures looking down the rifle range (sadly I took none of the pistol/tactical course).

The first picture, with the Savage in foreground, is Geezah's new hottie in .308.

The 100 meter berm's base has been more than doubled in size and about another 1/4 added in depth.

I widened the shoot line some more and added another 6 or 8 feet to the length of it so we could fit another shooter, then recovered the thing in pea gravel.

    (3 .308 guns...a Remington 700 and 2 Savage FP10s)

Durandel, looks really good. I wish I had some flatland. I had a place that iwas able to use, until the farmer rented the land out. Max range was about 1500M with great back stops. I have been thinking about how to set one up, I am on a hill so, there would be a downward slope plus...probably to much work and expense to get a 200 M line set up, or 100M line.

To bad you don't live near.

To bad indeed it would be good times.

That said. how steep is the slope? Could you cut into the hill? Build out a back stop and the build a deck for your shoot line? Run it along the slope rather than up or down it?

    .
Right now I need the money to put a new roof on the house. I am still looking at some options. I do have a burm for shooting, but it is pistol range. Also I have trees that could get in the way.

    Nice stuff Durandal.

Me and the old man are going to the range this weekend where he is going to be trying out a S&W M&P compact.

    Should be fun.

So if they make it past the 24 rounds of ammo and then knock the first knife outta your hand you'll stab them with the second one and then like the good citizen you are you'll use that cellphone to call for medical help....Right.
