I've got my eyes on a Series 70 Combat Commander right now. I know I shouldn't buy it, but the voices in my head keep saying "do it, do it....".

Put a SVT-40 on a lay away - by the looks of it, Refurbished... "Nice" purple bolt and by the looks of it - a new bore. I now have 3 months to buy a gas regulator tool and learn what I need to learn - make some moderately mild loads for it as well...

Any info sites other than mosin-nagant board and surplusrifle I should search for info?

    Stuka this is mine.

BTW, I made my own gas key.

Extra mags at Numrich, they are repops and a lot less than original.

You might consider sending a PM to Uncle Hollis. He has one. (What doesn't he have?)

EDIT: Wow, he musta been reading my mind, and posted a quick response as I was typing!

Cool - is there a cure for the "purple bolt" carrier, caused by improper re-bluing? Is it worth it to remove the bluing and re-blue it again (once I get a hot-blue set up)?

I really look towards cleaning the crud out of the beast - I expect it to be a doozy!

I'm coming for sure but don't have possession of the SVT for at least a couple of months. It's on a layaway - I didn't even start the paperwork but put 25% deposit so she doesn't walk away with another man

My Christmas blow off money went on a ring instead... Some piece of equipment or gear that is!

I think it is because of the steel they used. More Iron in it. I have blued several rifles the less expensive ones receivers have a higher iron content and the bluing salts will make it a plum color. I did a lever action, made my Winchester for Sears, came out with a really purdy plum color. on the receiver, barrel blued a deep black blue.

PS, did you get the link that I posted for you in the strip joint?

    Is Stuka getting engaged?!??!?!
(my 2004 year-end bonus ended up going towards an engagement ring)

If so, you better grab all the toys you can while you still have the freedom to control your own income!

    Thumbs up ChiCom AKs

These are my Chinese AKs: NIB Norinco Type 56s-1 and a Poly Teck MAK-90.

I would like to pick up a NIB AKS-762.

Nice AKs. Have you seen those Choate "Dragunov"-style stocks for the MAK-90s, H2Oman? When i had a MAK-90, I had one of those stocks on it, and it was pretty nice.

Yeap - that's about right! Bonus came and bonus left... But hey - I can do no wrong for at least a month, right? Wrong!

The whole joint income is a little scary, but then there is nothing wrong about fiscally responsible - I just have to make a lot more money starting now!
