Haha, I suppose so. It's not an Israeli sling...although I'd love to get one of those as they look really comfortable to use. The sling I have on there's an military issued 3 point T.O.P. military (from a surplus store) sling that I've modified into a 2 point sling. 3 point slings get hung up around stuff a lot, so I changed it for that reason. As for the parachord that's holding it on there, the front end of the sling was designed to be used with a side sling swivel, but my upper receiver didn't come with one. Can't go wrong with using 550 chord to attach the sling, lol.

As for the magazine, it's just 100 mph tape that's holding the parachord. Easier to reach for the mags for faster reload at matches.

And I was about to say...that's one hefty rifle just for a .22.

Thanks - in actuality, the older rifles are probably my favorites, especially the SMLE. There's just something about it...

    Beautiful collection there DesertYote.

EDIT: Sooner or later I'm going to have to go back up to Bossier City, dig my collection out of the safe that's gathering dust and post some photos. You people are making my jealous.

Hey Hil, you sound like me, since i live in the hood, no way do i keep my collections at my house. Just the bare bones self defense. But seeing as i am moving at the end of the month to a much better area, the collections will be coming home to papa.

Don't feel too special there. Common thing. I got told to give some of mine away until she realised we would need to buy new ones later down the track for my son and daughter.

I have been toying getting a cheap aimpoint or the like for a .22 to teach the kids to shoot. 2x or up to 4x mag would be good. Anything cheap that will do the job id be happy with any suggestions. I travel to the US once or twice a year so getting it back won't be a problem.
