Sadly some Republicans are not very pro-gun. Even President Bush was so-so on gun control. With the D's in control of both houses it could get real nasty. I was hoping the Supreme Court would have said more on their recent decision. Their ruling was still a plus........ but how much of plus? I guess we will see.

I guess we will also see if Obama's campaign promises are any good. Even if McCain would have gotten elected, his gun position was not all that good. I believe NRA rated him a C-.

Yeah I'd have to raid the savings to get one. I'd really like to get a Colt 6920 if there are any still available. It certainly is great having a brother who has a FFL though.

I would recommend just buying more receivers but the prices on them has been climbing steadily. I bought two lower receivers from Spikes Tactical for $115 each just before the election and now they are over $150.

Spikes is one of the few retailers/manufacturers that started price gouging. There was a thread on Arfcom of some places price gouging intentionally after November 5th. Most other places aren't so quick to make a quick buck so cheaply yet. Most stripped lowers are still around the same price, so I would shop around elsewhere.

But I do agree with what the others said, build the AR first. As for stocking on stripped lowers, it may or may not be helpful, depending on how the next bill is written. I would say it might be a safer bet to buy completed lower(s).

    .
I agree with you there, Kilo. There's no guarantee they won't go after parts/components too. I bought a stripped lower a couple of months ago, and I'm trying to acquire all the necessary parts as quickly as my budget will allow.

Its the Norrell Moly Resin, it is pretty durable, seem more durable than my old Black T finish. the finish are holding up very well.

Here is some pictures of my new toy...

HK 416 14.5inch upper with AAC blackout flash hider and PRI military latch on charging handle.

EOTech 555 with Standard HK sights, but might migrate to the Centurion Arms HK sights which is higher in order to co-witness better with my Raised EOTech 555.

Tangodown VFG with a unknown side sling mount i found in the parts bin.

Vltor offsit flash light mount in up right position. I ride my hand high on the VFG so it is very natural for my thumb to rest on the push button. Surefire 6PLED with Tactical NightVision Company 256Lumen LED lamp conversion.

The ****g type of flash suppressor has a inherent problems. In areas of foliage, they can get hung up on vines, branches, etc.

True. That's why the they went to the A1 and A2 birdcage later on right?
That said, if memory serves me correctly, that particular flash hider was designed for an AAC suppressor right? I remember seeing this flash hiders on the SCAR guns.
