Gunshow today, fell victim to the Obama scare, came back with the most expensive gun I've bought, which is sad because it's only an AK47.

    The price....yeah...lol

Any of you guys know some backyard-fixes to get rid of the magazine wobble? It's pretty bad in this one, I was thinking of shimming the inside of the magwell.

    What was the price?

The local gun shop WASR-10's are up to $650 dollars without the threaded barrel and bayonet lug. It sucks.

It was $550 before tax, $595 all said and done. $195 more than aimsurplus's price, but they are out of stock...I'll kick myself if they restock them for $399.

But oh well, at least I got it over with.

    Nice purchase D3ath!

I went looking for 30 round AR mags today. Place i went to was all out of PMAGS(they just got a shipment in on wednesday). They had all but 4 mags left and they were all HK hi-Reliability mags at like 40 bucks.

This is getting ridiculous, hopefully it calms down. And prices are soaring too. I can't find any place that has .45colt under 35 bucks. I need to start reloading.

Ouch, that sucks, sorry to hear that happen to you as well. My friend picked up his 10/63 in October for $400 for the whole package at the local gun show. When we went last week, prices jumped to around $600 as well.
Either way, those AKs are fun to shoot. The 10/63 doesn't have that annoying trigger slap you see with the 10 models. I was surprised at how smooth the trigger pull was.

Same here. Last weekend, some guys were running to vendors and grabbing 7 Pmags at once...even though the prices were inflated. Within the hour, they sold out. All this "binge buying" is driving prices even higher. If people just slow down and demand lowers, prices will lower like how oil did recently.
Sheesh, Obama isn't technically in office yet either.

Nice AK pickup but the priced sucks...you get hammered on that $ at gun shows or at shops...

I paid less than 1k both a Tantal and Bulgarian AK74 but that was private sales.

Those are the first 2 from the left:

Yeah I knew I was getting screwed on the price. Anyway I'm just glad I have one now, always wanted a WASR-10. I was so surprised at how easy it was to field strip too, way different from the SKS. Has a ton of metal shavings from when they filed down the magwell. Going to clean it up tomorrow and refinish the wood with a dark walnut stain.

Then I have to budget for some 7.62, since I have no ammo...

Yeah it's a breeze to fieldstrip, I only had issues getting my reciever covers to snap in the first time around...

A dark walnut will look pretty sweet...be sure to post up some pics once done.

Congrats on joining the AK club

How do you like the Tantal? I actually considered getting a Polish AK variant back in the day, but never got around to doing so. Is it in 5.45 or 7.62?

I love it...its an AK74 so its 5.45. Absolutely no kick at all, accurate as hell, and smooth trigger.
