Look for a used one. Or ... another gun shop. The shop near me got a Glock 20 for a customer no wait (except for shipping time).

    What Glock are you getting?

Well in 5 months you will have decades to make up for the those 5 months of waiting. I picked up another Glock 20 (10mm full frame) the other day.

whats your opinion on the 23 size? i want something that is "comfy" to shoot but can be concealed.

Comfy...... is only a thing you can figure out.

Concealment varies, Time of year (clothing).. how you conceal. Belt holster, fanny pack, ??

The smaller the easier to conceal in all conditions. 27 would be easier to conceal

    x2 what Hollis wrote.

Personally, I think the Glock 23 is a good compromise between performance and ease of carry.

Thanks Hollis and Gaijin. what i was getting at is i have big hands, and those sub compacts are to small to shoot comfortably. and im a big guy i think i can conceal a compact regardless of style of holster.

The land of Mauser, Walther, H&K, and JP Sauer would have been my first guess. However, I was unaware that the Deutchvolk were allowed to privately-own G3s and AKs. Cool. I hope it stays that way.

Anyone have an opinion on the Mosin Nagant M91/30's with PU scopes that JGSales offers?

I have big hands and although I like the size of the 23 I have a problem with the finger grooves on the front strap. The first one is fine(closest to trigger guard), but the second one bites into my middle finger of my strong hand. I really crank on my grip so take that for what it's worth. Because of that I would go with a 22 (about the same size as a SIG229) and plenty concealable or a 27. My first 23 did not have the finger grooves and was one of my favorite guns.

There's about a bazillion good holsters for a 1911 frame, leather or kydex. The Summers Special is probably THE standard IMO. For inside the waistband I like the CompTac Infidel. I don't recommend carrying w/o a holster: the gun shifts too much causing you to readjust it all the time (a tell) plus it is unsecured for things like bending over, getting in/out of a seat or car or running for your life. It also moves, slowing your drawstroke which can be deadly if you are trying to draw from concealment. Plus your body acids/oils are bad for the finish. Get a good holster, get a good belt
