I've got mixed feelings about the "shot placement" statement.

Of course, shot placement is paramount. Hitting a threat's arm, shoulder, or grazing his ribs is a poor substitute for placing a round in the vital organs, especially if he's firing back. That goes without saying.

But, when your adrenalin is pumping, you've got incoming lead, and the stress of combat is induced. You might not get the same marksmanship as you do when you're at the range.

I guess that's why practice is important. Repetitive practice. Again, and again, using as realistic scenarios as possible.

In the military and law enforcement, I would hate it when our range instructors would act like drill instuctors, stressing us out and yelling at us like we were bootcamp privates. But in hindsight, I can see there was a reason for it.

I agree, and I think it's also important to practice the basics often. I've been shooting for a long time, and consider myself reasonably good, and I still start every range session with a little bit of dry firing and shoot more slow fire - front sight focus, squeeze, than anything else. I've found that it pays off for both pistol and rifle. Makes rifle easy.

I got one, but I'm not a very big fan of it. I'd rather have my harris on it.

I own the compact .40 it shoots very well. Disassembly takes about two seconds but you have to pull the trigger to release the slide. It goes without saying but ****make sure you're barrel is empty**** I was taking a firearms saftey class and a Police Officer forgot too so we got fresh photos of what not to do. I have never had a problem with it and I'm in the 2K round count. It's my daily carry.

Some fine looking rifles you got there Gaijinsamurai. Although I have to say, until seeing your pictures, I never would've been able to picture a Leupold on an AR.

I'm currently waiting on the status of my Arsenal SGL-21 from K-Var. If they don't get their sh*t together soon, I'm going to pay $10 extra and go through Atlantic Firearms.
