Seems KTzG enjoys his Astan trip. At least he doesn't look completely displaced like his predecessors did most of the time.

German Defence Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg meets German army Bundeswehr soldiers during a short visit to their military camp in Kunduz, northern Afghanistan November 13, 2009. On his first trip to Afghanistan since taking on the defence portfolio last month, Guttenberg said Germany, whose parliament is due to vote in December on whether to extend its peacekeeping mandate there, needed to see "clear cut" signs of progress. Germany has the third largest contingent of troops in the NATO mission in Afghanistan.

German Defence Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg (C) is helped with his flak jacket as he meets German army Bundeswehr soldiers during a short visit to their military camp in Kunduz, northern Afghanistan November 13, 2009.

4 minute vid about KTzGs visit of PRT Kunduz.
    German only.

He mainly thanks the soldiers for their effort and for what they've achieved. Also one medic tells the minister, that they had to camo the red cross on their vehicles because the insurgents targeted the red crosses on purpose.
