I'd be interested in what these numbers involve.

For comparison, India is apparently going to buy 22 AH-64E for $1.4bn, or ca. $63.6m for each helo. Indonesia, on the other hand, is being offered eight (8) AH-64E for $1.42bn, or ca. 177.5m for each helo, but including engines, Arrowhead turrets, Longbow radars, EW suites, 140 Hellfires, launchers and other armament. Qatar requested the buy of 24 -E's along with a huge load of associated equipment, totalling $3.13bn, or $130.4m each.

Christmas feeling in Afghanistan. German (and ISAF) troops trying to recreate an atmosphere with Christmas markets, Glühwein, BBQ, waffles and Christmas trees.

I'm actually surprised he's not assigned to an MG3 or MG4. Maybe a GMW. I mean, unless he's an officer they'd be dumb not to have him haul around the heavy stuff...

What about the left G28? Did he ditch the scope for iron sights, it almost looks like an Aimpoint too?

Hey, I guess we met each other. I was one of the Germans in that place when the Boxers were parked like that.

Stayed in that place for a total of ~14 days this year. Also a picture of me and my buddy of that OP was running on the DFAC television in CNL

24 Tiger HAD for just €1,5 Bn, big delays, just 6 HAP delivered for the fun, and the weapons are outside the deal, beat that...(And the 1,5 figure is just for now, we started with a 1,35...) We should have bought an F-16 Block 52 squadron to the army.

I have to admit that sadly I have very few pics of our German friends, but I'll share a couple more with you guys

First we have the friendly JTACs, whose officer had exceptionally good sense of humor and he instantly picked up on the Finnish way of sick jokes

The same JTACs just chilling out and preparing for a good night's rest...

...and less than 30min later the INS neighborhood watch decided to make us all feel welcome:

Oh, well they suck at aiming and no harm done but to our sleep.

And lastly I have to mention one officer, who seemed so very...German to me. Pretty much every time I saw him, he walked around looking like this:
