In these Pictures, we can see first of all........the new Dingi 2 GSI ( Gefechtsschaden-Instandsetzung) , a specially Recovery Version by the German Armed Forces.
They had a new Weapon station and chains on the wheels.

Too the Sniper detection System : I had never see before these System . Thats new.

What's with the XXL coats some guys are wearing? They go down almost to their knees? And why are German's always carrying so much gear and stuff around?

The long coats are mostly smocks and their lenght is intended for better usage with a rucksack. So in case you have stuff in your back pocket(s) (and side pockets) you are still able to wear your ruck conviently and close the hip belt. Furthermore it makes a quite convinient seat if you carry your rain poncho in your back pocket

Also the the smock is that long because if you`ve got your rig on you should be able to use the lower pockets of the smock...and in german army we always say: "Haben ist besser als Brauchen" what means to have something with you is better than needing something you haven't got with you.

Baghlan Province, Afghanistan. (Aug. 13, 2011) Incoming Observation Post North Commander Lt. Col. Peter Mirow poses with International Security Assistance Force Regional Command North Commander Maj. Gen. Markus Kneip and the outpost’s outgoing commander Lt. Col. Heico Hübner at the post’s change of command ceremony on Aug. 13. (RC North Mazar-e Sharif Public Affairs photo by Staff Sgt. Florian Krumbach/Released)
Note the bandages Gen. Kneip is still wearing on this photo, a couple of weeks after having been wounded in action.

I really dislike that metal/rock music. Nice footage though, really far away from home.

The GEMA dislikes the music too and has banned the video. Thank you, Germany, for the music-industry funded censorship industry watching over me ...
