Nice impressions. Where can I find similar raw photos of Operation Enduring Freedom in a bigger resolution? I browsed dozens of sites here, but every photo seems to be kind of small.

    Great stuff, muck. Thanks bunches.

I love the G3 pics. But that also tells me there still aren't any of the new G28s in theatre.

Other than the few high-res pictures on the Bundeswehr's Flickr page, I'm not aware of any official "bigger" pictures of German troops in Afghanistan. It's a pity.

You're welcome. Oh well, we should be happy that the new rifle enters service before our withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Same haircut, same type of glasses... that's actually kind of scary.

The G28 is very expensive. Also, I think that the G3 is not only used in the DMR role (G28 is a DMR) rifle.

And long live the G3, it looks amazing.

Yeah, its really kind of smart to introduce a rifle that is much too expensive for everyday use....... pure german brain-power @ its best

What's that supposed to mean? The G28 is indeed an expensive piece of equipment but how does that render it unusable for everyday service?

They also forgot to cut out that part where someone calls him by his first name.

And the swastika on the makeshift table right at the start.

Well, it's the highly informational "Galileo", but the "Strategie & Technik" - magazine referred to this unit as the ASSIK - Arbeitsstab Schutz in Krisengebieten when they introduced it about a year ago with a big article.

Has it been renamed or is it just a matter of bad background information at the TV-Show.

A German soldier is greeted by local children while on patrol in the Nahr-e-Sufi area of Kunduz Province, Afghanistan, April 18 2012.

That German Police special forces "are not allowed" to use the G-36 inside Germany seems like another bull**** story ... may not be available to "normal Police", but that is a completely differend story. I hate such inaccuracies ...
